Nanozons

Our Methodology

Every product recommendation on Nanozons is backed by a structured evaluation process. This page explains how we research, test, and rank products across all categories.

Research Phase

Before reviewing any products, our editors define 3 to 7 evaluation criteria specific to the product category. These criteria are based on what real buyers care about most — not what manufacturers promote. We examine manufacturer specifications, independent benchmarks, user reviews across multiple platforms, and industry expert opinions.

Evaluation Framework

Each product is scored against the defined criteria. Our evaluation considers:

  • Performance: How well does the product deliver on its primary purpose?
  • Value: Does the price justify what you get? We compare within price tiers, not across them.
  • Build quality and reliability: Based on manufacturer reputation, warranty terms, and user feedback patterns.
  • User experience: Ease of setup, daily usability, and learning curve.
  • Category-specific criteria: Battery life for headphones, security protocols for VPNs, APR structure for credit cards, etc.

Scoring

Products in our buying guides and best-of lists receive a score from 1 to 10, broken down by individual criteria. The overall score is a weighted average — weights are declared in each article's methodology section. We never use arbitrary or inflated scores. A score of 7 means "good," not "average."

Ranking Principles

  • Commission-blind rankings: Affiliate commission rates are never a factor in product placement or scoring.
  • Context over absolutes: We recommend products for specific use cases and budgets. There is rarely a single "best" product for everyone.
  • Tradeoff transparency: Every recommendation acknowledges limitations. We explain what you gain and what you give up.
  • Competitor acknowledgment: We mention alternatives, even if they aren't featured in the article. Readers deserve the full picture.

Content Integrity

  • Articles must deliver standalone value with all affiliate links removed.
  • Every product review includes both pros and cons.
  • At least 30% of our educational articles per category contain zero affiliate links.
  • CTA button text is always neutral (“Check Price”), never pressured (“Buy Now”).

Refresh and Updates

Product markets change. Our articles are monitored for data-driven refresh signals: traffic changes, product discontinuations, pricing shifts, and competitive landscape updates. When triggered, articles are reviewed and updated with the current date reflected in the “Last Updated” byline.
